‘I don’t wish this on my worst enemy’: Caledon-area woman says Canada’s medical system is failing people living with Lyme disease

Janice Barry was at a vet office in Alliston with her dog when a poster caught her eye.
It listed the symptoms of Lyme disease in dogs. It sounded familiar.
For over a year, the former Caledon resident had been experiencing flu-like symptoms — daily nausea, weight loss, chronic fatigue, her hair was falling out in clumps and she was having problems seeing.
But she’d been tested for Lyme disease twice — and both times the results were negative. She’d seen multiple doctors and had multiple tests — no one could figure out what was wrong with her.
I have suffered for years now what I think is Lyme disease but my Doctor claims I don’t have it. There is something wrong and I cannot convince anyone that it is real.
How do we get drs to truly test for lymes disease?? People are suffering!!
