Promoting current and accurate information through research
CanLyme stays up to date with emerging research in order to present current and accurate information about tick-borne illnesses. We work with Canadian and international scientists, researchers, and physicians to gain a better understanding of these illnesses. We fund research as well as in-depth training for healthcare providers.
Education, awareness and community engagement
CanLyme raises awareness and educates the public through our website, social media, and other initiatives including the Looking at Lyme podcast. We also engage with communities through fundraising and educational events.
Challenges associated with Lyme disease
Many Canadians have found it difficult to receive a diagnosis and adequate treatment for Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Symptoms often overlap with other conditions, and diagnostic tests do not capture all cases. Some patients experience continuing symptoms following treatment. Lyme disease can be life altering.
