Why take this challenge?
Because Lyme disease is the fastest growing infectious disease in Canada, and is becoming epidemic worldwide!
Because research into persistent Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections is severely underfunded!
Because there is evidence that in many cases, symptoms of Parkinson’s, ALS, MS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer’s disease, bi-polar disorder, and many other neurological and autoimmune disorders may be caused by Lyme disease.
CanLyme is working with the G. Magnotta Foundation for Vector Borne Diseases and senior executives of the newly built Humber River Hospital in Toronto to undertake an extensive human tissue research program using today’s most sophisticated DNA sequencing technology. We hope to determine how many of the 2 million Canadians with these other diagnoses, actually are misdiagnosed, meaning they in fact have a borreliosis (Lyme Disease). We are hoping to raise a minimum of 5 million dollars for this research that may be able to help hundreds of thousands in Canada and millions globally. Evidence to date compels us to do this, and we have the technology now so please, donate.
