Dr. Vett Lloyd on biobanks and the science of tick-borne post-infection illness
Dr. Lloyd reviews tick-borne chronic illness from a research lens and the role of biobanks in answering key questions.
As part of our CTD Conference video series, we are sharing this presentation by Dr. Vett Lloyd – a professor of Biology at Mount Allison University with expertise in molecular genetics and epigenetics. She runs the Mount Allison tick lab, which studies tick and pathogen biology and her published work in this area includes tick genetics, tick behaviour, wildlife disease reservoirs, and patient treatment outcomes. Here Dr. Lloyd discusses the role of biobanks in helping to shed light on the mechanisms of chronic illness in Lyme patients and the many questions still to be answered.
