Diagnostic tools for Lyme disease, by Dr. Ralph Hawkins

Dr. Ralph Hawkins presents on tools available for medical diagnosis of Lyme disease. From the Canadian Tick-Borne Disease Conference in 2025.

Following the success of our inaugural Canadian Tick-Borne Disease Conference, CanLyme is sharing selected video presentations of conference sessions with our readers.

While the primary purpose of the conference was to advance medical practitioners’ knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases, several presentations may offer valuable insights and information for patients and families impacted by these conditions.

The first session we are sharing is a talk by Dr. Ralph Hawkins (University of Calgary) on Diagnostic Tools for Lyme Disease.

Dr. Hawkins received his medical degree in 1981 from the University of Saskatchewan, before completing his fellowships in internal medicine and nephrology at the University of Calgary.  Dr. Hawkins is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nephrology, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has a special interest in Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
