Clinician education grants available at CanLyme

Deepen your understanding of Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections through online learning.

A team of health practitioners stand together learning about Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment.

When it comes to Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections, earlier diagnosis and treatment result in better patient outcomes. Not all cases of Lyme disease are clear cut however.

Tick-borne infections can be challenging to diagnose and treat.

Treatment guidelines used by many physicians do not adequately address patients with ongoing symptoms. Current medical training lacks the in-depth information required to address many patients with Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections.

Fortunately, there are courses that clinicians can take to improve their knowledge of ticks and the diseases they carry.

A good place to start for all clinicians, including general practitioners and specialists who want to learn more, is the Vector-borne Illness Fundamentals Course which is available online at ILADS, and in-person this November, at the ILADS Annual Scientific Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

CanLyme understands the critical importance of ongoing education for healthcare providers, and supports Canadian clinicians through the clinician education grant program.
