Are you (or do you know) a student enrolled in one of the following fields: science; communication; social sciences; or law who wants to make a difference in public awareness and education of Lyme or other tick-borne diseases?
CanLyme is awarding $5,000 to a Canadian undergraduate student enrolled at a publicly funded post-secondary institution in Canada to support a project focused on Lyme disease or other tick-borne diseases.
The Jim Wilson Memorial Scholarship honours Jim Wilson’s long-term commitment to public awareness, science-informed advocacy, and meaningful communication in the field of public health and medical communities through support of a project regarding Lyme or other tick-borne diseases.
Jim was the founder and past president of CanLyme and his work changed countless lives. CanLyme exists as a testament to Jim’s vision, passion, and tireless work. He created a vibrant, active organization that is the first point of contact for many Canadians experiencing Lyme disease. CanLyme gives a voice to Lyme sufferers by working with researchers and various levels of government to promote recognition and effective diagnosis and treatment for this debilitating disease.
The application deadline is September 30. The successful applicant will be notified by December 1, 2026. Once the applicable project has been completed between January to December 2027, the scholarship winner will be expected to produce a one-page, single-spaced report in English or French for CanLyme’s website.
