Ontario Lyme Researcher John Scott Receives Governor General Award
Scott was chosen to receive a Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers in recognition of 27 years of research and advocacy on Lyme disease and tick populations in Canada.
He and his wife Catherine, founded what is now called Lyme Ontario after it took four years for each of them to be diagnosed with Lyme disease.
“Basically I started from scratch,” Scott told the Advertiser on March 13.
Congrats. What an amazing man and his wife!!!
This well deserved and long overdue award recognizes the huge contribution that John, his wife, and Lyme Ontario have made to the Lyme disease community in Canada. Congratulations!!
I am front USA, South of the Border. Canada has needed a face. John Scott is a great pick. Must not forget the other pioneers who fought and lost the battle up there.
Is John’s name actually John Prescott?
No it is not.
