THE JOHNS HOPKINS LYME DISEASE CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTER OPENS
The Lyme Disease Research Foundation is pleased to announce the April 2015 opening of The Lyme Disease Clinical Research Center in the Division of Rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
The Center was established with a major gift from the Lyme Disease Research Foundation and represents the culmination of years of extraordinary work by donors, staff, and members of the Board of this organization. We are grateful for the tremendous dedication and support of our donors. The Center builds upon the success of Dr. John N. Aucott’s patient based research program at the Foundation and brings this premier clinical research program to a platform of national prominence.
Importantly, this is the first time a major U.S. research hospital has committed to a center for the exploration of causes and cures of the chronic characteristics of Lyme disease. Hopkins Rheumatology, ranked #1 in 2014 by US News & World Report, is a leader in chronic and autoimmune illnesses. The Center at Hopkins will enable the groundbreaking SLICE program (Study of Lyme disease Immunology and Clinical Events) to be strengthened and expanded, with the goal of advancing the understanding of disease mechanisms and improving diagnostics, treatments and patient outcomes.
For more information about the Center and Dr. Aucott’s leading-edge clinical research program, please read our Spring 2015 Newsletter.
This is an enormously exciting time in the mission to conquer Lyme disease, and donations will continue to be vital to the progress of research efforts. We continue to seek and appreciate your support.
Donations should now be made payable to Johns Hopkins University and directed to The Johns Hopkins Lyme Disease Clinical Research Center, Division of Rheumatology, 2360 W. Joppa Road, Suite 320, Joppa Concourse at Greenspring Station, Lutherville, MD, 21093.
Thank you for making this vital research possible with your ongoing support.
